A disgruntled driver Mr Danie Usman was upset because he felt cheated by his boss and decided to abscond with his Hyundai SUV
The driver turned robbery suspect, Mr Usman who works for a Chinese construction company in Ekiti State, was arrested by the Police for stealing a Hyundia Jeep belonging to his boss.
According to the Police, Mr Usman confessed to driving the jeep from the company’s premises in Ado-Ekiti and was off to Abuja to sell it when he was apprehended.
Mr Usman also said he was forced into the crime to punish his boss who was the site manager of the company. He explained that his boss had used him many times to allegedly commit several crimes of cheating the company of its money and his grouse was that he didn’t compensate him for helping out.
The Commissioner of Police Mr Esosa Amadasun explained saying:
“The driver said the idea of selling the jeep came to him as a last option when he demanded from his master N500,000 to buy a small car but he gave him only N300,000 instead. That was why he was in Lagos with the car where he was offered N1m. He changed his mind to go to Abuja for a better offer before his arrest by our team near Jebba Bridge.”
